A Letter To You

It could be love thing, maybe just something that you do not want heard... Letters make secrets more smoothly said. For some, it's less embarrassing, less of a haggle to find words... Letters make emotions come out on paper, escaping the reality of face-to-face reactions.
Have you ever noticed that sometimes you can't tell someone your feelings in their face? Have you ever noticed the nervous, anxious feeling of telling someone a deep secret that you never even said aloud? Forgetting love, how about times when you just can't tell someone something due to their reactions? Or the words won't come out right? LETTERS... Well they saved me a lot of times.
"So many things to say,
I'll put 'em in a letter...
Thought it might be easier,
The words might come out better."
Anyone ever wrote out secrets on letters because of confrontational guilt? How about repressing feelings that you can't seem to say right? LETTERS... Well they can relieve a lot of us.

Hi Nefty,

I am totally like this, even since I was a kid. When I had something hard to ask orsay to my mom, I would write her notes.

And it still happens today.

I did it before. I felt a certain relief once I finish writing it. This is one of the method to release tension as well..

The mixed edge is that while letters make it easier for us to say things because we have a chance to reread it and make changes to try and make it clearer what we want to say it is also a more impersonal way to hear things which takes a lot of the emotion out of what is being said.

@ bee
Yeah, it kind of gives them a chance to think about it aswell:]

@ kay
Nah, I prefer to just say whatever in front of them... I can just relate to this though knowing that it is more easier.

@ nothing
I hope you are not talking about blackmail lol!

@ curry
Definitly, you don't actually have to send the letters out:]

@ aza
Just like I stated:]]lol.

hmm..

yes, at times it is easier to write your feelings down...even with the person just staring at you while you say how you feel can be too scare to deal with...:)

Letters leave a paper trail of truth. Evil Spock doesn't like writing down feelings.

i surely have written letters. I think that they allowed me to be very creative and honest in the absence of rejection or being caught up in emotions in person.

excellent post.

i love writing, and i love writing letters. I dont write them because i cant face people. It more like i know that i will be able to better express myself with written words than spoken.
