The New Skinny...

Why does it seem like models && celebrities are getting skinnier everyday? I can't help but bring this up because I've seen in news && magazines lately that a lot of celebrities are starving themselves to have the all new "sexy" look, showing bones! UGH, it's gross, what do people look at that's so sexy in seeing a girl with her ribs showing and her legs like toothpicks??? I hope this fad wears off... This fad makes the regular seem fat! People should be happy with their body, don't kill yourself to look so thin... && Oh did I mention it just looks gross?

There was a point of time where the fashion industry were writing off too skinny models . I don't know whether its still up now. probably in certain parts of the world.:)

And yeah i prefer meat than skin and bones. I don't know, it just makes us look sexier...yeah..:)

i agree..how can a woman with her ribs showing be sexy? in my opinion, sexy=curvy=regular women :)

hello!
well true! thats why most of the fashion companies are rejecting skinny models and have laid rules for minimum weight and build for a model. Thus skinny models wil no longer be taken anymore, and hence it wud help to solve this problem to some extent.

nice post

@ soul&body
&& I would like to touch the muscles;] lmao. But point tooken, it's just not right to starve yourself when other people are wishing they can too have food. Btw, your'e funny:]]

@ confessing-girl
Yep, totally gross!

@ jewel
I know, but sometimes I see in model shows that the judges say that the skinny girls are "too thick." &&, yes, the meat is sexy!

@ rajeev
Lol, yeah, the proportions of meat here && there;] Not just bones...

@ muffet
Definitly:]

@ sharad
That's a good thing, because some girls weigh like 80-100 pounds when they're like 20!

@ rohan
Yep, I can't imagine the pain when a girl trying to be a model or whatever is brought down because she's thick.

@ lemonade
Hahaha, yeah.

yes GROSS GROSS GROSS!!!!!

Increasing eating disorders...tension...stress....all of the psycho bable crap is a result of this...WANTING TO LOOK OH SO SEXY AND OOMPHY...what is sexy about bones...skeletons shoo away people not attarct them!!huh...if only our designers knew how to design clothes for HUMANS than covering the skeletons in their labrotaries....

I like a bit of flesh on my girl I don't intend on dating skeletons.

Dr.Alistair said...

what i know about that is this;

stressed out anxious people buy more things.

seeing skeletons wearing the clothes you want stresses you out so you do what you can to get thinner.

which makes you more stressed out.

the solution?

stop looking.

love yourself for who you are.

not what a magazine wants you to be.

Thanks for stopping by nefty. I'm a blogger from CT also. I did something on this a little while back too and can't understand it. Many of these women look great before getting this skinny. Me and most of the guys I know certainly don't find it attractive. I'm not sure what the fashion industry has in mind for promoting this look. It's causing a lot of damage to the models as well.

@ me,myself, n i
I also love to eat, esp. chocolate! So nevermind me starving myself, I like the way I look...I just wish other women can feel that too than trying to be "perfect."

@ anna
Your welcome...

@ mindy
True, almost all guys like curves, not bones (hopefully).

@ nabila
YES, we're humans not skeletons!

@ sj
That's good:]

@ dr. alisair
Beautifully said, especially the magazine part.

@ ricardo
Very big damage, good to know that bones are such an unhealthy look for the fashion indusrty! Not only unhealthy to have the bones stick out, but also unhealthy to look at! Btw, your welcome.

Thanks. It was not exactly a poem. But if that is the way you interpreted it, then thanks!

Arrrrggghhh! Why don't they just dangle dressed-up skeletons down the runway? Then we would all know what our clothes will look like on us when we're dead!

Enemy of the Republic said...

Yeah, Nefty, this is just too much. Like Confessing7girl, I see dead people....

It's a sickness, in my own opinion. It's sick that we allow the media to brainwash us into beleiving what they put out there (the Jennifer Anniston hair-do did NOT look good on all women)
I'm sure this sounds absurd coming from someone who refers to themselves as I do, but I come by my boniness naturally & the fact of the matter is that I do not feel sexy about my size, I do not try to be skinny and have stretch marks to prove it from my 'rapid weight-gain plan. These women who starve themselves are sick.
We should all be a little more content with ourselves & let popular media dictate less to us.

@ skinnylittleblonde
I feel you but don't be offended, I'm talking about the "un-naturally" skinny people (like bulimia, etc...).
